Study of partial discharge electromagnetic wave signal leakage characteristics of transformer oil-paper insulated bushings

Abstract In order to reasonably evaluate the effectiveness of UHF sensor arrangement in online monitoring partial discharge bushing, it is necessary study electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics bushing. this paper, a three-dimensional model real transformer bushing established, XFDTD software used simulate raised seat defects and internal capacitive core field strength sensors are arranged at different locations inside outside process signals leaking from oil-paper insulated external free space simulated analyzed. The results show that time difference between received by not significant can be neglected practice. signal generated elevated defect leaks upper porcelain sleeve space, leaked energy mainly gathered lower ends sleeve. partially discharged capacitor will propagate along coaxial waveguide structure formed screens towards two core, downward propagating confined within seat, upward propagates top concentrated simulation provide ideas for optimizing antenna detection discharges bushings.
